The last post stated the Notice of Intent (NOI) was filed by Green Ridge, which is true. However, this is only one of many steps, Green Ridge has to complete before the project is final. Now is the time to get on the band wagon and contact the House Delegates and the Senators for their support of HB1038 and SB409. They are the ones who have the power to change the DEQ regulations and save Virginia’s environment! Don’t let these bills die in committee.
Now is NOT the time to give up but to become more active and seek answers to various questions. It is time for you to become involved and determine what you can do to protect Virginia’s environment. Recent posts and news articles addressed the sale of County Waste of Virginia to a company out of Canada known as GFL (Green for Life). Do you want trash from Canada hauled into our Virginia? Does this sale change any of the terms of the Host Agreement?
We continue to work closely with legal counsel to get answers to these and several other questions. Your continued support is greatly appreciated and with it, we continue forward to STOP the proposed Mega Landfill in Cumberland County, Virginia!!!
