The meeting will be held at the Cumberland Middle/High School Cafetorium, 16 School Rd, Cumberland, VA 23040. The start time is 7 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to inform the public of the DEQ process for landfills. The presentation will include a presentation by the DEQ staff on the requirements for a permit, how permit applications are evaluated , opportunities for public input and the next steps in the review process. The presentation will be followed by a staff panel to answer general questions from the audience on solid waste permitting, i.e. is protection of private wells addressed in the process.
