DEQ process requires a review of the Notice of Intent (NOI) for administrative completeness. If there are any questions, DEQ will send a COMMENTS letter to the applicant addressing the concerns and asking for further information.
DEQ reviewed the NOI submitted by Green Ridge/County Waste/GFL and found it to be administratively incomplete. DEQ sent the applicant a Comments letter on March 30, 2020. The letter addressed concerns with the Disclosure Statement and Local Government Certification. DEQ is asking for an explanation outlining the corporate/LLC structure as it relates to Green Ridge Recycling and Disposal Facility, LLC and describe how each entity is related. This is the link to the Comments letter
The entire NOI application and Part A documentation is available to the public at this https://www.deq.virginia.gov/GreenRidgeLandfill.aspx

CCLA continues to work diligently to stop the proposed mega-landfill in Cumberland. Please keep in mind the issuance of the Comments letter is just one of many steps in a long process that may take a year or more to complete. The LANDFILL IS NOT A DONE DEAL UNTIL/UNLESS A FIRST PIECE OF TRASH IS ACCEPTED!…which will not happen as we continue efforts!
“There Will Be No Landfill!”
I don’t understand what the SWMP involving Prince Edward county is. Can someone explain what it is and what actions are required of our BOS regarding this?
