A big “Thank You” to the Sierra Club and Gustoavo for enabling us to have a virtual meeting on Sunday, June 14. 2020. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
“THANK YOU” to all who joined the meeting by internet or phone. Your support and participation is greatly appreciated. The group was smaller than the May meeting, but the weather was nice and fewer COVID19 restrictions in place. Our goal is to have the July 12, 2020, as a combination of in-person and virtual. More on this will follow as plans are put in place.
Webinar to share perspectives on Environmental Justice to be held on June 17, 2020, by DEQ. You are encouraged to join in this webinar, if possible. Participants may be limited so it is best to register as soon as possible at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5209532679109032717.
A short summary of yesterday’s Community Townhall meeting will be posted later this week. It will give you more information on what CCLA is doing to stop this proposed mega landfill in Cumberland County. It has been two years since the citizens first found out about it. It is not a time for us to let our defenses down but a time to become more active and do whatever is necessary to prevent this proposed mega landfill from becoming a reality. It is time for us to protect our environment, our rural way of life, our water supply, and the air we breath!! It is easy to join us in this endeavor, just send an e-mail to NoMegaLandfill@LoveCentralVA.com.
