DEQ recently posted a letter dated July 1, 2020, addressed to Green Ridge on the website. The letter is four pages long and addresses disclosure and other issues. See attachment for the full letter.
ATLANTIC COAST PIPELINE CANCELED
News released on Sunday was the Atlantic Coast Pipeline was canceled as delays and costs mount. Duke and Dominion Energy said in an article that lawsuits, mainly from environmentalists aimed at blocking the project, had increased costs to as much as $8 billion from the $5 billion project cost announced in 2014.
We offer congratulations to the people who fought and won on this project. You offer our group inspiration to continue to fight the proposed mega landfill in Cumberland county – it is not good for Cumberland county and Virginia. We MUST continue to protect our environment, rural way of life, and our water. These items are all very important to us and the answer to why we continue to oppose the landfill.
