Request for Your Help
Last week we asked you to “Mark Your Calendars” for our September 13, 2020, Community Townhall Meeting with Senator Hashmi as our guest speaker. We obtained confirmation today from Senator Hashmi and everything is on target for the September 13th meeting. Now we ask your help to get the word out to others by distributing the attached flyer.
If you have any problems with downloading and/or printing the flyer, please e-mail NoMegaLandfill@LoveCentralVA.com and we will ensure you get a usable copy.
AUDIO OF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AUGUST 2020 MEETING
The audio of the August 11, 2020, Cumberland County Board of Supervisors meeting is now available at www.cumberlandcounty.virginia.gov/board-supervisors. Most of the meeting is fairly standard until you get to the Public Comments close to the end. Several people spoke during the Public Comments period and then this was followed by Board Comments. These two parts of the meeting you may find very interesting, especially the Board Comments. For your convenience in locating the Public Comments, go to about marker 1:18:00 and listen to the end. There is less than 10 minutes left to the meeting. You can send your comments to CCLA at NoMegaLandfill@LoveCentralVA.com.
CCLA’s new business cards are here. They are really eye catching. They will be available at the September 13th for distribution. If you would like some sooner, please e-mail us at NoMegaLandfill@LoveCentralVA.com.
The Eager Beavers, fundraising committee, are busy putting the final touches on the lite meal to be served after the September 13th meeting for small amount of $$. See the flyer attached above for the full information and menu.
In addition to planning for the September 13th meeting, the Eager Beavers are hard at work preparing for the 3rd Annual BBQ. The kickoff for the BBQ will be during the September 13th meeting. This will include the flyer for the event and the opportunity to advance purchase your plate(s).
These are just two of several projects the Eager Beavers are working on. More information will be provided in the next few weeks as plans for the projects are completed.
THANK YOU EAGER BEAVERS for your hard work.
A big “Thank you” to everyone who supports our endeavor to prevent the Green Ridge proposed 1200 acre mega landfill from reality. YOUR SUPPORT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
