TWO IMPORTANT MEETINGS
There are two important meetings scheduled over the next 7 days.
9-8-2020 – Cumberland County Board of Supervisors – 7 p.m. at the Cumberland Court House. Seating is limited due to COVID19 restrictions. If you want to get a seat in the main room, it is recommended you arrive early. There is additional seating available in the adjoining room where the meeting is carried live.
A review of the agenda as posted as of this writing is fairly general in nature. However, citizens are able to make comments during the Public Comments part of the meeting. This is your opportunity to speak before the Board and let your voice be heard – it is your right. Please attend if possible.
CCLA’s Community Townhall meeting this Sunday 9-13-2020 at 3:00pm at the New Community Center at 11 Davenport Road, Cumberland, VA.
Senator Hashmi representing the 10th Senatorial District is our guest speaker, provided the General Assemby is not in session that day. Senator Hashmi attended our meetings prior to her election to the Senate. She supports protecting our environment. She sponsored Senate Bill409 during the January/February session of the General Assembly. This bill addressed Local Impact from large landfills on local water, soil and air quality. This bill is carried over to the 2021 General Assembly session.
Please plan to attend this meeting if possible. We look forward to seeing you. A lite meal, for a small price, is available following this meeting. See attached for more information.
THANK YOU-THANK YOU
CCLA greatly appreciates your continued support to prevent the proposed Green Ridge mega landfill from becoming a reality in Cumberland County.
