Public Comment Period – Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE)
The ACOE received the Virginia Water Protection application submitted by Green Ridge. They currently have a public comment period open which is your opportunity to express your opposition for the proposed mega landfill in Cumberland County, Virginia. This is your chance to voice your opinion on the project. Your comments should be short and to the point. They can be technical or personal and should be more specific than “it will smell”. Give it some thoughts and consider protection of the wetlands and private wells, the needs and welfare of the residents, and the effect on plant and wildlife in the area.
Start planning the text of the letter now and tomorrow a list of regular mail addresses and e-mail addresses will be posted. Give it some thought and let your voice be heard. You are an important part in our fight to protect our environment – after all, we only have one!
