The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword
The last several posts concerned the 2021 General Assembly Session and the need to write and/or call your senators and delegates to seek support for environment bills such as Senate bills -3019, 1200, and 1186. This is still so very important as the Senate committee meets tomorrow on these bills. CCLA is registered to make a statement in support of these three bills. We are addressing protecting the environment as a state-wide issue and not just about the proposed mega-landfill in Cumberland County. We felt we may be able to gain more support for the bills by addressing this way.
This push to write letters to government officials and make phone calls is important during the General Assembly session. However, we should not forget that it is important all throughout the year. If you have a thought or position on a certain issue, take the time and write a letter or e-mail. Officials do keep track of these contacts and review them. So keep on writing those letters and e-mails to the newspapers, media, local, state and federal officials. Do not forget to include the Governor in your list of recipients.
For your convenience in contacting members of the Committee who will hear the bills tomorrow, below is a list of the members with phone numbers and e-mail addresses. Just a simple statement to the effect that you support senate bills 3019, 1200, and 1186.
